When The Story of Tomb Raider was released in 2017, its author, Alexandre Serel, although he had accomplished an impressive investigative work, was still saddened by this state of affairs: he had not succeeded in make contact with the two fathers of Tomb Raider, Toby Gard and Paul Douglas. But the latter finally came forward on his own following the publication of the book, delivering essential testimony, as a founder, which it would have been a shame not to share.
The news of the video game industry is regularly punctuated with cases recalling the precarious status of its heroes in the shadows. We learn here and there that the very day after the release of a game, some of its designers have been left absent in the credits.
