VIDEO GAME LITIGATION: ORIGINALITY AND VARIETY

The video game environment is divided into two: its metaverse and its multiverse. The metaverse refers to the virtual content of the video game (what is inside the game). The questions raised are multiple: virtual reproductions of tattoos, vehicles of a car manufacturer brand, use of loot boxes or loot boxes. The multiverse invites us to wonder about the interactions that the video game has with the world around it (what is outside the game). Are targeted the place of video games in the video game industry and the consequences of its practice on its users: do video games make people violent? Are they harmful to health? In order to explore the variety of legal disputes, each of the contributions of the book bases its reflections on a video game in particular. This is how, for example, Animal Crossing raises the question of its political use by Joe Biden to carry out his electoral campaign, or GTA that of the attacks made on the player in and outside the game.
