One of the most remarkable features of video games is their ability to replicate real-world environments while constructing entirely new realities. While games may separate children from their physical reality, they also connect them to different spaces and times—transcending regions, countries, and cultures.

As a result, video games now occupy a critical space in conceptual thinking—a “magic circle” that demands deep reflection. Virtual reality significantly shapes how children perceive the world and their role within it. They live in digital simulations and, borrowing from Baudrillard, become entangled in simulacra—a condition that poses complex questions in the philosophy of education.

Grounded in Baudrillard’s philosophical framework, this book explores the structures of reality and hyperreality in the digital realm, critically examining how effective video games are as simulational tools for educational practice and meaning-making in children’s development.
