This book draws a picture of game centers from their appearance in 1972 to the present moment in 2017 from the point of view of a fan. Starting from Space Invaders, from the popularity of shooting games such as Xevious and Gradius, passing through the rise of fighting games like Street Fighters II and Virtua Fighter II, up until the current online-focused game centers. This volume is the result of the efforts of the former editor-in-chief of "Gamest," Ishii Zenji, to capture in detail the point of view of players, caught in continuous transition between progressively developing hardware and its influence on the form and role of game centers, their atmospheres, as well as the games that became symbols of an era. Surely, this book will allow people who entered so much as one time in a game center to recall that environment.
