What is this project?
For decades, women have been part of the history of video games, but many of their contributions remain invisible.
25 Women Making Video Games is a research book that brings together the stories of developers, artists, designers, producers, programmers, and creators who are building the video game industry in Latin America.
This book seeks to inspire new generations, preserve the memory of our industry, and demonstrate that video games are also culture.
Why this book?
When we research the history of video games, we often find the same names. The same studios. The same countries. The same stories.
But there is another history, one built from indie studios, cities far from major technology hubs, and women who, often without resources or role models, decided to forge their own paths.
If these stories are not documented today, there is a risk that they will disappear forever. This book was created precisely to prevent that from happening.
