The purpose of this general style guide is to help simulate localization practices in which the locator or translator is bound by the client's style guide. It is primarily intended for practical English translation seminars focused on the localization of software products - gaming, non-gaming and websites, during which students must consult various chapters when preparing assignments in order to prepare assignments correctly. It can also be used as a teaching aid in other translation seminars, as students will also find general information on English-to-Slovak translation, such as information on different types of texts, spelling or a list of some common grammatical errors. Last but not least, it can also be used in practice if the client does not have their own stylistic guide available.
