Digital games have become an important part not only but especially of youth culture. It is time to use their opportunities and the associated potential in historical and political education. This book provides suggestions.
It imparts basic knowledge about digital games and their research, locates them as part of historical culture and shows how learning in and with games is possible. The focus is on presenting the computer game as a teaching tool: in addition to concrete individual titles, forms of game use, teaching concepts and methodological implementation are presented. The volume concludes with 25 teaching examples presented in detail.
