Digital games are now an integral part of popular culture, and in particular they are part of the everyday reality of schoolchildren. Computer games often draw on historical themes and thus shape historical and cultural ideas. They offer the opportunity to trade in a simulated historical context. Using digital games in the classroom means making history “tangible”.
This volume explores digital games as a teaching medium. Games are suitable - across different areas of competence - to stimulate problem-oriented and inquiry-based historical learning. The volume contains numerous practice-oriented worksheets for history lessons.
