The author recomposes the conceptual variations of the term "camera" by reconstructing the different meanings, while paying particular attention to its context of use and to the multiple relationships that bind the different agents of the cultural field of video games that have used it (players, creators, reviewers, publishers, etc.).
By writing the history of the notion of "camera", Selim Krichane questions upstream the relationship between cinema and video games, and takes a fresh look downstream at recent Hollywood productions that mobilize video game "grammar".
