TECHNONATIONALISM, DIGITAL WARFARE, AND VIDEO GAMES IN CHINA

Antonio César Moreno Cantano

There is a growing relationship between the world of video games and international geopolitics. Some time ago this format crossed the border of the ludic to occupy a prominent position in the propagandistic, cultural or nationalist agenda of the States.

China occupies a dominant position in the use of this technoculture; forming part of its soft power, showing a modern and sweetened image of its political and economic present; and as part of a global strategy of technological warfare (inserted in its global governance macroprojects) imposing its creations through powerful tentacles such as the Tencent group. In this work, all these issues are analyzed, highlighting the political, cultural and economic relevance of the video game in the Asian giant.
