The planned four-issue comic series titled "Myst: Chronicles of the Black Ships," originally published by Dark Horse Comics, sought to explore events preceding the Myst storyline. Unfortunately, it was discontinued after Issue #1 due to dissatisfaction expressed by both Cyan and dedicated Myst enthusiasts who felt that it deviated from the authentic Cyan spirit and established D'ni history.
Myst #1, titled "The Joining", is the first issue of the The Book of Black Ships. The sequel (known as "Betrayal" was never published.
