Video Games and Magazines. If you ask anyone on the team of the brand-new Gamers em Ação about two of their greatest nostalgic passions, the answer will almost certainly be the same: video games and magazines, or, for this publication, specifically video game magazines.

This is how Gamers em Ação was born. The idea came from our “boss” and designer, Raul Benevides, who, besides being a passionate gamer, has always had a deep fondness for Brazilian gaming magazines from the 1990s.

If you followed the topic on the former Twitter, you’ve probably seen some of Raul’s posts praising countless issues of the classic Gamers, Ação Games, SuperGamePower, and many others. It was through these posts that I got to know him, and we became friends. Naturally, our conversations always revolved around games, video game magazines, and music!

Months went by, and one day he decided to bring together several other friends who shared these passions and said, “Why don’t we launch a new magazine?”

So, with great pride and dedication from everyone on the editorial team, we present our first issue, packed with a wide variety of topics, from retro to modern games, AAA to indie titles, the importance of game translation and localization, to Hideo Kojima’s admiration for David Bowie. And of course, our cover story: an in-depth analysis of the legendary and timeless Final Fantasy Tactics, which received an excellent new release late last year.

This range of topics is no coincidence. Gamers em Ação was born from this very spirit: a magazine created by people who have always loved games and gaming publications, wanting to celebrate video games as they deserve. After all, games are far more than just a hobby or simple entertainment, they are works of art.
