Mustafa Gökçen Akbaş, Özge Uğurlu Akbaş

The concept of "game", which often expresses a fun and enjoyable area in the lives of individuals, has been examined by many disciplines to date, and its historical development and its effects on society and individuals have been discussed in many studies.

In this book, the game is considered as a cultural narrative that contains a story, rather than a tool that allows individuals to spend their free time. In addition, the phenomenon of digitalization, which deeply affects every aspect of life, has brought about the transformation of the traditional game understanding. This narrative, which is called digital game, has similarities with classical game narratives and is evaluated from different aspects.

In the book, storytelling is associated with characters, archetypes, design, fiction and plots in the digital game and moved to a special area. The book looks at the game literature from the perspective of storytelling, and analyzes the signs and story patterns through the game "God of War", which contains many mythical elements.
