The Collector's Companion was created between Winter 2014 and Summer 2015 following extensive research. The author, a passionate collector, had long searched for a reliable and portable SNES price guide suitable for flea markets and conventions. Unfortunately, most available guides were outdated, incomplete, or riddled with incorrect data — some even listed games that didn’t exist!

To fill this gap in the German-speaking market, a thorough and independent investigation was conducted to compile every SNES PAL game and its most significant variations. These variations, often overlooked in other guides, are of particular interest to serious collectors.

The prices listed in this guide are based on actual sales from the months prior to its release, offering a realistic snapshot of the retro market. While prices will always fluctuate, this guide helps collectors recognize fair deals and avoid overpaying — whether they're long-time enthusiasts or newcomers to SNES collecting.

Designed as a practical companion, the book focuses on delivering relevant information without unnecessary detail. To keep it compact and easy to carry, the first section omits images. Especially rare and valuable titles (referred to as GEMS) are marked with a (+) and receive additional information in the Deluxe section.
